GhostLight is a digital theatrical training ground that allows established artists to mentor young, emerging and mid-career colleagues, placing an emphasis on live conversation and collaboration online.
June 12th, 2020 - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: NATION WIDE; CANADA: GhostLight launches its Youth Programming. Complimenting our Professional Training Series we now offer teens the opportunity to train and have fun with some of Canada’s premiere theatre artists. This high quality programming is designed for teens seeking a fun introduction to theatre as well as mentorship from professional actors and youth educators in multiple theatre disciplines.
Our first foray into Youth Programming is The GhostLight Summer Camp.
GhostLight Summer Camp
Our Summer Camp sparks the creativity of live theatre performance in a digital and socially distant format. Camp attendees are divided into younger and older cohorts, and while having fun are introduced to acting and musical theatre concepts that will be the foundation of a lifetime of enjoyment ...and perhaps a career. Alternating between non-musical and musical theatre performance techniques, GhostLight Summer Camp helps your teen take the stage in life.
“Our Summer Camp is a natural extension of GhostLight’s original goal,” said E.B. Smith one of the company’s co-founders and Director of Creative Strategy, “and yet again we were overwhelmed by the support we have received from the theatre community as stars of the Stratford and Shaw festivals joined Graham in making themselves available to mentor these aspiring actors.”
Guest teachers include some of the very best actors in the business and include Stars of the Stratford and Shaw festivals as well TV and film including: Graham Abbey, Dylan Trowbridge and E.B. Smith.

“Graham Abbey and Dylan Trowbridge, two of the country's finest actors and directors, have launched GhostLight.ca, a place for artists to come together and collaborate through mentorship, conversation and collective creation.” - NOW Magazine
Ghost lights have stood vigil over unoccupied theatres for years, protecting the stage in the darkness and illuminating the space for creative spirits to play in the void. Our mission is to sustain this vigil in the virtual world by providing a gathering place for teaching, mentorship and exploration. Founded by theatre artists Graham Abbey, Dylan Trowbridge, E.B. Smith, along with Adrianna Prosser, a professor of arts and culture management, and Stephen Barnard, a veteran on the business start-up community; ghostlight.ca is our virtual home base. We provide Canadian theatre artists the opportunity to stay active, inspired and engaged by connecting them with some of the nation’s most exciting artists and mentors. We offer online events, accessible training, as well as mentoring in the performing arts.
